About this course

Knowing technical SEO concepts is not the same as running an audit that gets implemented. In this workshop you audit Kiran Home, a fictional Lahore-based homeware brand selling to Pakistan, the UAE and the UK, whose organic traffic fell after a storefront relaunch.

Step by step, you will scope the engagement and request the right access, configure a repeatable crawl that approximates Googlebot, and combine crawl data with Search Console, Cloudflare logs (in a Python lab), rendering and structured data checks, and Core Web Vitals field data. You will group findings into root causes, prioritise them with an impact × effort × confidence model, write tickets with testable acceptance criteria, and add CI smoke tests with developers.

Finally, you will verify fixes in production, Search Console and logs, report honestly to founders and managers, audit AI search readiness (crawler access, Bing, facts and AI exposure), and leave with a 2026 checklist and deliverables pack. All data is illustrative; the workflow, code and templates are ready to reuse.

What you will learn

  • Scope a technical audit with clear objectives, access, deliverables and testable hypotheses
  • Configure a repeatable crawl with the right user agent, rendering, seeds, segments and extraction
  • Combine crawl, Search Console, log, rendering and field performance data into evidence-backed findings
  • Analyse CDN logs in Python to verify bots, quantify crawl waste and link crawling to revenue
  • Group findings into root causes and prioritise them with a stress-tested impact × effort × confidence model
  • Write developer tickets with binary acceptance criteria and add SEO checks to CI
  • Verify fixes across production, Search Console and logs, and report outcomes honestly
  • Audit AI search readiness and deliver a complete, QA'd audit pack

Course content

Scoping the audit and setting up

Meet the fictional client, agree goals and access, and configure a crawl that reflects how Google actually sees the site.

Running the crawl and gathering evidence

Turn crawl, Search Console, log, rendering, structured data and performance data into evidence-backed findings for the fictional client — including a hands-on log-file analysis lab.

Triage and prioritisation

Group findings into root causes and rank them with an impact × effort × confidence model tied to business value.

Writing tickets developers act on

Translate SEO findings into precise, testable tickets and work effectively within a development team's process.

Verifying fixes and reporting to stakeholders

Prove that fixes worked with repeatable checks, and communicate progress and outcomes clearly to decision makers.

AI search readiness and the audit toolkit

Extend the audit to AI surfaces — crawler access, Bing, facts in raw HTML and an AI exposure baseline — and leave with a reusable 2026 checklist and deliverables pack.

Certificate: Certified Technical SEO Auditor

The holder has completed an end-to-end technical SEO audit workshop: scoping, crawl configuration, evidence gathering from Search Console and logs, root-cause triage, impact × effort prioritisation, developer-ready tickets, fix verification and stakeholder reporting.
